چکیده
This study was aimed to examine the relationship between CYP2Cs genes on chromosome 10, which control the enzyme activities of cytochrome P450, and the occurrence of phenytoin induced severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs) in Thai epilepsy children. DNA samples from SCARs and tolerances. Single Nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) composing of rs1592037 (CYP2C8), rs17110192 (CYP2C18), and rs3758581 (CYP2C19) were genotyped by allelespecific PCR. Significant associations were observed between heterozygous genotypes for mutant allele located on rs3758581 and rs17110192 and phenytoin-induced SCARs in Thai epilepsy pediatric patient (OR = 14.52; 95 % CI 1.18 – infinity, p value = 0.044).

Frequencies of CYP2C9 polymorphisms in North Indian population and their association with drug levels in children on phenytoin monotherapy
BACKGROUND Phenytoin, mainly metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzyme system, has a narrow therapeutic index and may have adverse effects due to inter-individual variation in the dose requirement and genetic polymorphisms. This cross-sectional study was done to study the prevalence of cytochrome P450 CYP2C9 polymorphisms in Indian epileptic children and to see the effect of polymorphisms on serum ...
متن کاملAssociation between Cytochrome P450 2C19 Gene Polymorphisms and Hematological Malignancies in an Iranian Population
Background: Cytochrome P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) is widely involved in the metabolism of some medications. On the other hand, recent studies have shown the contribution of the CYP2C19 polymorphisms to different malignancies. We aimed to investigate the association between CYP2C19 polymorphism and occurrence of hematological malignancies by comparing the phenotype distribution of this enzyme in patien...
متن کاملClinical relevance of genetic polymorphisms in the human CYP2C9 gene.
Cytochrome p450 (CYP) 2C9 hydroxylates about 16% of drugs in current clinical use. Of special interest are those with a narrow therapeutic index, such as S-warfarin, tolbutamide and phenytoin, where impairment in CYP2C9 metabolic activity might cause difficulties in dose adjustment as well as toxicity. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in the CYP2C9 gene have increasingly been recognized as...
متن کاملStudy of Cytochrome P450 1A1 (T3801C) Single Nucleotide Polymorphism in Patients with Breast Cancer in Mazandaran Province-Northern Iran
Background: Breast cancer is the first leading cause of cancer-related death in women. Pesticides which are excessively used in northern Iran are one of the most important risk factors for breast cancer incidence. The cytochrome P450 1A1 (cyp1A1) is a key enzyme in xenobiotics metabolism and SNPs of its coding gene has been verified to be important in cancer susceptibility. The aim of thi...
متن کاملP-192: Association of Cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) Gene Polymorphism with Clomiphene Citrate Treatment in Iranian Infertile Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Background: Clomiphene Citrate (CC) is the most frequently administered drug for the treatment of female infertility [e.g. polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)]; which aims at restoring ovulation. Clomiphene is metabolized by CYP2D6, an important enzyme responsible for the metabolism of approximately 25% of clinically used drugs. CYP2D6 is very polymorphic and thought to result in inter- individual...
